I've neglected this journal a lot lately

I've sort of forgot about this journal is the semi business of my life. Since I last posted, I've moved to another house. I love how much space we have. Before it was 4 people is a 2 bedroom, 800 square foot condo. Now, its 4 of us in 3 bedrooms and 1200 square feet and we have a yard. The Fourth person is my brother Raymond who is supposed to have been kicked out about 2 months ago according to my mom, who pretty much lied to me. My brother and I don't exactly get a long, not out of lack of effort on my side. I'm very civil, but he's a bit of a fucking asshole.
I graduated high school in January. I went on a trip to North Carolina to visit my half-sister Tuesday in March, which was probably the biggest waste of money of my life, but I'm coming to terms with that. I learned something very important. Tuesday is insane and visiting her is a waste of money. I don't know if it's a lesson I'd pay hundreds of dollars and two weeks of misery for but whats gone is gone. I also bought some VERY expensive dolls which I'm totally in love with. Worth every penny. Right now I'm enjoying unemployment and desparately looking for some job, any job. My love for dance has also been rekindled after a long break. We're considering starting up another dance troop, actually the same one but I think now we are much more prepared. Last time we tried, I had so many issues around moving my body that it just wasn't fun, it was work. Now I LOVE dancing, especially to great music and I'm looking to find more music. I don't want to wear out my love for Vas and Ganga Giri.

"Oooh fancy!!!"

I had to buy it. only five dollars and it kicks my horrible old tape that i have to roll up again after each use.

the Lion, the witch and the elephant

Lion for my dear pal Allyn. Didn't use a pattern. I'd not completely pleased with the result.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

its butt
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Elephant for Leigha. I used one of the Roxycraft patterns. I'd post a link but every place you go there it is. They're mighty popular. I think I'd do better without a pattern. this one was kind of weird for the body.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

just for a size referance.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

(and thats not my cell. that old withering stone age peice of technology belongs to my brother. i have a flip phone.)

The elephant's trunk keeps getting erect. -childish snickering-
well, it seriously is and I'll have to take it back from Leigha to fix it.

I made both of them teeny tiny gryffindor scarves.

my current WIP is a black and red snood. just two or three rows to go until it is finished. I plan to make a ton of them to sell at the fair. I need to eventually buy some model heads to display my stuff on.

I finished a shrug that came out HORRIBLE. I'd send it to the frogging pond but it was pretty cheap yarn so it may just be tossed.

I'm toying around with writing a book to be published. the subject of said book: crochet dolls. did ya get the pun? -elbows-
There are several other ideas I'm considering in the realm of publication.
I also plan to sign up for paypal to start selling snoods once I get those rolling.

a picture is worth a thousand words.

well, here are several:

My lovely winter scarf swapmate gave me these:
a neon neck scarf of yarns I've been eyeballing. Matrix and i forget the name of the other but the color is carnivale.

and because I said on the form that it doesn't stay cold here for long, she made me an extra little belt scarf. How thoughtful.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

my swap scarf will be sent out in a few days. I'm almost done. I'll take a picture before it's mailed off.

My first woven project. Loom donated to me by my dearest Faea, along with the fiber as part of a kit that did not include instructions so I winged it (which I love to do.) If they did have instructions, I problably wouldn't follow them. After seeing a very intricute woven aztec blacket of Gallie's I am really wanting to learn my stuff.

The Powerful Girl inspired scarf, Work in Progress

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
mmm, it looks like candy. It will have star motifs sewn on.

A hat for my mom
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

and a WAY better image of the Fruits inspired scarf:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

My scrap scarf! This came out so nice. It was fun to make. Just tie peices to the end of the yarn as you go. I tried making another one, in more random colors. It looks like the yarn monster barfed on a pair of needles. I'm going to add more fringe on to this one. It looks a little meak.

and my adorable puppy, ok he's not a puppy and he's my brothers but he is the cutest dog of all time. His name is billie, as in Billie the Kid because he has that bull legged walk that cowboys get after riding horses all their life.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
I caught him in a yawn while trying to get a nice respectable picture. So so cute.

photos photos photos

I had fun at the harry potter events. the 6th books is great.

I've finished a bunch of new projects but don't have all the photos but here is what i have:

I've finished a headband. Just a granny stitch but it looks great and keeps the hair back nicely.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
I made another one in sky blue and scarlet but it doesn't look good on me so i'll give it to a friend. so generous.

Anyone ever see the book Fruits? It's japanese street fashion, and one of the scarves in the book inspired this:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
if you noticed it matched the headband, then you're not color blind. the headband was made after this to match.

xmas beanie for Matticus. colors are off because its from my new camera phone (^_^)

i got a bad*ss new shirt from hot topic for $9
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I am half done with gallie's present but the mohair is killing me in the heat. I got almost half done with fae's before i ran out of cotton. that was disappointing, i don't have the money to buy more just yet and i was really hustling on that. I'm not going to bore you without pictures.

I'm in love

RAOK anyone?

yeah, like anyone is that randomly kind..

next post will have the rest of my FO and WIP. i promise.

Finally I am done on the Weasley sleeves

I finished the Mrs. Weasley sleeves. Don't have a clue what they look like? well Here:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
My costume of course doesn't look exactly like that, (there was only so much selection at the weave) but I think I've captured the weasley-ness of it. I'm going to be wearing her black beret, so that I can hide my pink chunk i have in the front.
here's the beret:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
I'll be borrowing that from my dear pal Fae. Or I might crochet one, if i have enough yarn. I've pretty much exhausted my stash.

I can't find my digital camera, which isn't good. It might still be in some box somewhere but I know my brother had it last and he denies it. grrr. I'm kinda annoyed because it was a birthday present to me a few years back and somewhere along the line my mom decides it is a family camera. I don't mind sharing at all, but effingjhc. I'd like to be able to keep track of MY camera.
enough whining.
get a load of this:
http://www.mugglenet.com/viewer/?image_location=harrypotter6_HR.jpg
http://www4.mugglenet.com/viewer/?image_location=hbp/hbpbackcover_high.jpg
On the back is Ron, Hermione and Ginny but who is the other student? Its hard to tell but I think it's Luna. I'm too tired to go into all my insane rantings and theories on the 6th book (out in 5 days, and about 3 hours.)
I'm going to die. really, die.

on a different note my quiz results:

You are Mohair
You are Mohair. You are a warm and fuzzy type who works well with
others, doing your share without being too
weighty. You can be stubborn and absolutely
refuse to change your position once it is set,
but that's okay since you are good at covering
up your mistakes.

What kind of yarn are you?

over ambitious? Me? NEVER!

Anyone else psyched for the new Harry Potter book? 6 or 7 days away right? I'm going in costume, because I want to be the biggest baddest and coolest HP mofo there. I am going as mrs weasley. Remember those gigantic crocheted bell sleeves from the 2nd movies. I'll be arriving in those. They're mostly finished. I still haven't gotten the dress or shoes I'll be wearing. What fun what it be if i had to relax?
I'll get some pics up after its over. The enticipation is killing you isn't it?
There's also Potter Night coming up. I'll be dressing as a slytherin quidditch player. (I'm just hoping no one notices I'm not a big loaf of a guy or rich)

Some of My Work

Some of my Finished Work:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
My Slytherin scarf. The colors are off but I assure you they are silver and green. It's knitted of course
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
my checkered scarf. It took me years to make but it's one of things I'm most proud of. I made it pretty early on in my crocheting sublife, without a patern and without not even being completely sure it was possible. At that point the only crocheted things I saw were potholders in variated pukish easter colors. It's a little worn out as you can tell.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
my first scarf ever. It was a lot shorter and a lot wider earlier in its existence. crocheted in backloop single, which at the time I didn't realize was backloop and was the only stich I knew.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
OSKI! both crocheted and knitted. The body's stich was inspired by a hawaiian lei book. It's feet and head are knitted. The eas are crocheted. Named after a rap song that goes something like, "ah ah ah ski ski ski mutherf-" well you get the idea.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
a nice little drawstring purse done in crocheted double with a improvised lace stitch. The yarn i used to make was incredibly easier to work with and took me about 4 or 5 seconds to make. I have no idea what type of yarn it was because it came from a box of yarn from my friends garabe. I imagine they wouldn't know.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
amulet bag, single crochet in a circle. acrylic yarn, the walmart brand in either sage or dark sage.
Works in Progress:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
double crochet chevron aphgan in acrylic. A little Dr. Suess.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
my first granny stitch anything. It'll grow to be a lapghan eventually. The colors look better in person. Made from scraps lying around my messy room.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
a shawl I was originally making for Junior Prom, but have realized it might be done by my October birthday.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
a closeup

I'm still knitting that sweater without a pattern. I'm on the arms right now. If i ever even suggest doing something like that again smack me, hardly.

I'm outy.
